AFX FX-17 Zombie Helmet

The shambling, unthinking Romero zombies have come a long way. Today’s zombies can sprint, think, plan, and talk. If they haven’t learned to drive cars and ride motorcycles yet, they soon will, and in the not-too-distant future. Indeed, there is already a helmet for them –the AFX FX-17 Zombie Helmet.

The Zombie Helmet is a motocross or off-road helmet with a removable screw-on sun visor and an elongated chin bar, thus fully protecting not only the head but also the face area.

It is made of an advanced composite poly-alloy that is both sturdy and lightweight making it comfortable to wear. It has an aerodynamic design that slices the wind when speeding on a motorcycle. To keep the head cool, the helmet features 11 vents distributed on the chin, forehead top, rear, and sides for ample airflow.

Goggle strap grabbers are mounted just outside the eye cutout to keep the goggles in place even on bumpy rides. And to keep the helmet steady, a chin strap with a square type D-ring lock is installed.

Inside the helmet are liners and cheek pads that are made out of hypo-allergenic and anti-microbial nylon. These can be removed for washing in case it gets stained with sweat or perhaps blood.

The entire surface of the AFX FX-17 Zombie Helmet is decorated with paintings of zombies. There is an open-mouthed zombie that stares at you with its wide undead eyes. There is also a bald-headed creature with pointed ears and cat-like eyes and fangs protruding out of its mouth. Blood is splattered all over the helmet. Barbed wires are wrapped at the crown, perhaps to keep the zombies at bay.

Apart from protecting their heads from baseball and cricket bats, the zombies won’t have much use for the FX-17 until they learn how to ride motorcycles. In the meantime, living zombie fans can use them.
